Waterfalll Hikes

With the cool temperatures during the past few weeks, I am getting anxious for my favorite season, autumn to arrive. I ave been taking advantage of the weather to scout out places that would be good for fall color take advantage of our spectacular colors in Ogden Valley.

I took two great waterfall hikes recently that I am putting up at the top of my fall color excursions.

Pine Creek Waterfall - This is a new trail and is part of Wolf Mountain. I accessed the trail from the very top of Nordic Valley where the water tank is located. (The end of 1950 North.)
Use the Fire Break Trail until you see Pine Creek Trail split off to the left up the mountain. The trail takes a lot of hair pin turns up the slope through a mature forest with trees, ferns and a stream. There is a picnic area and a bridge across a waterfall. I didn't go all the way but I understand it ends at one of the Wolf Mountain lifts. If you want an easy walk , go to some of the special events at Wolf Mountain, like the Taste of Ogden Valley take advantage of the lift rides when they are offered.

North Fork Park Waterfall - I enter the Middle Entrance of North Fork Park and follow the road to the right. In a 1/2 mile or mile, take the fork to the left. I just park in any of the campsites and walk up the road. At the end of the road is a sign pointing to the waterfall. It is about 1/4 mile but the trail is steep.
