Utah Fall Colors - Just a Little Hiking Gets you There

I did not even take my DSLR camera with me, and then came across this scene on a hike near Snowbasin Sunday.  Droid smartphone camera to the rescue!

Fall Colors and Snow on the Peaks!

The view from The Retreat, a new neighborhood in Eden, Wolf Creek Resort.  Colors are still changing - later than usual this year.  The snow in the peaks is an extra special treat. Time to get out and enjoy!

Colors are Still a Few Days in Coming

Although we can find pockets of color everywhere, the full bloom of autumn has not quite hit Ogden Valley.  This photo is coming down Wolf Canyon Trail (off Powder Mountain Road), looking at Ogden Valley.  You can see the trails of Wolf Mountain on the far hill at right.

Park near the Pineview Reservoir Dam and hike or bike up Wheeler Creek to Art Nord.

Pockets of color are starting to appear!

On a hike to Mt. Ogden Overlook trail at Snowbasin, we are starting to see some patches of fall color! Autumn is around the corner in northern Utah.  Can't wait for the Fall Color Photography Workshop in Eden!
